The story behind the song: what else? A 'love thing'...

But the story doesn't stop there! The song was written in 2005, but for reasons that will forever remain untold, it was never recorded. However, in the summer of 2007, we had the idea to record a demo of the song to pitch to a country artist, Carrie Underwood or Faith Hill, as the song felt, as they say, 'a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll'. The demo was done, but we ran into another stumbling block, for reasons that will forever remain untold...and the song was again shelved, this time permanently...or so we thought. One day, while on a Karmina media tour in Albany, New York, a gentleman by the name of Jim Cerqua came into Karmina's life. Events ensued that will, once again, forever go untold...but, thanks to Jim, "Now That You're Around" was fully produced, the recording was finished, the song was released on iTunes, the song received a fabulous "single review" in Billboard (June 13), and "Now That You're Around" has just recently begun 'spinning' on AC radio.

Thank you Jim, for being the catalyst, the inspiration, the epiphany and the cheerleader for bringing "Now That You're Around" to the world. You give Karmina's slogan "I Wish the World Could Hear" even more meaning. Truly, without you Jim, the song would still be sitting on that shelf.

Not only that, what we have come to refer to as Jim's "golden ears" also proved to be invaluable during the final production sessions of "Now That You're Around". Jim's input was valued tremendously, leading us to dub him as honorary "Executive Producer" for "Now That You're Around". Do I hear an echo? Ah yes..."you're around". Jim, Karmina's world is truly a better, brighter place, Now That You're Around.
